In search of traces of the painter Tintoretto you should schedule a visit to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. On their famous interior alone 56 paintings by him are shown which are considered his greatest works.
1564 Tintoretto won by trickery a commission to decorate the Sala dell'Albergo in the Scuola. 13 years later, he offered - in return for an annual pension of 100 ducats for life - on to design the entire building.
It is worthwhile to take a closer look at the most representative paintings.
